MILITARY HISTORY

April 20, 1792 - March 25, 1802
The French Revolutionary Wars were a series of military conflicts between the French Republic and various European monarchies. Initiated by France's revolutionary government, they aimed to defend and spread the ideals of the French Revolution. The wars saw battles against different coalitions, including powers like Austria, Prussia, Britain, and Spain. These conflicts concluded with the Treaty of Amiens, which provided only a brief pause before the onset of the Napoleonic Wars.
May 18, 1803 - June 18, 1815
The Napoleonic Wars (1803-1815) were a series of global military conflicts fought by the French Empire under the leadership of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte against various European coalitions. The wars, which followed the French Revolution, saw the rise of Napoleon and the defeat of major powers such as Prussia and Austria in battles like Austerlitz, Jena and Wargram. However, the rise of the French Empire began to decline with the disastrous Russian campaign. In the end Napoleon was finally defeated at the Battle of Waterloo, leading to the Congress of Vienna. This international conference redrew the map of Europe and restored the old order.
February 1, 1864 - now
The Wars of German Unification were a series of three conflicts from 1864 to 1871 that led to the unification of the German states under the leadership of Prussia and the consequent formation of the German Empire. These conflicts include (1) The Second Schleswig War (1864) and (2) The Austro-Prussian War (1866).
