The Fortune Teller looked at him almost apologetically as he drew the card before speaking up, "The Spider, a card born of deceit, I wish you luck, after defying the fates, you'll need it." Acoris immediately began screaming, his body distorted, arms pulling into four, his abdomen elongated, and his legs split into six spear-like claws. On his face, his cheeks extended into mandibles and two new, smaller eyes opened under his ordinary ones. He moved to stand, but instead of the two legs he was used to, he was held up by a spider-like lower body.
Filled with panic, he turned to look at Madeline, expecting to see her worried and calling for help, but as he moved closer to the glass of the observation room, all he saw was fear and disgust. In the face of the one he loved, everything he had grown to treasure in the past six months just broke. He began sobbing in the corner of the chamber, barely noticing as the Fortune Teller stood and left. He also didn't try to resist as the armed guards who rushed in stripped him of his keycard and keys.
Finally,y Acoris stopped crying, he didn't know how long it had been since he'd been cursed, but he could swear the people in the observation room had come in and out hundreds of times, and he also noticed Madeline hadn't returned. He was no longer upset, actually he no longer felt anything at all. Well, now he thought about it, he did feel the slightest bit hungry, after this thought, he looked up to the observation window, the researchers who looked at him - the ones he had previously considered good friends now resembled nothing more than snacks.
